There is a natural harmony between Botswana and Zimbabwe, two nations that together form one of the world’s most compelling safari partnerships. Over fifteen days, this SMALL GROUP GUIDED JOURNEY hosts a small, companionable group of six to twelve travellers, tracing a path from the thunder of Victoria Falls through Zimbabwe’s rugged heartlands and ending amidst the quiet waterways of Maun. Along the way, the knowledge of your guides transforms the landscape, revealing the subtle complexities of the African bush. You will explore a beautifully varied terrain that includes the elephant-rich plains of Hwange, the dramatic granite kopjes of Matobo National Park, and the riverfront sanctuary of Chobe.
The expedition offers an intimate look at Southern Africa's most iconic landscapes and its more elusive residents, featuring rare opportunities to track rhino on foot and search for the highly endangered African wild dog. The pace of the journey shifts elegantly from the gentle drift of a houseboat safari on Lake Kariba to the pristine, watery reaches of Moremi Game Reserve and the Okavango Delta. Here, the true spirit of the wilderness is felt as you navigate the quiet, reed-lined channels by mokoro—a traditional dugout canoe—ensuring a deeply authentic and restorative perspective of the continent.
Your Journey
Day 1
1 NightUpon your arrival at Victoria Falls Airport, you will be met by our representative and transferred directly to your hotel to settle in. The remainder of the afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisure, offering a quiet opportunity to rest or begin exploring the area at your own pace. Later this evening, you will gather at the lodge to meet your guide and fellow travellers for a brief pre-departure meeting, where the journey ahead will be introduced over a welcome drink.
This small group journey makes use of mid-range typical African standard accommodation, situated either in national parks, on the banks of a river, or in other places of interest. The accommodation will be a mix of lodges, chalets and tented camps, all with a private bathroom with a shower or bath and a toilet. Some properties are equipped with swimming pools and/or bar areas. Travel is undertaken in purpose-built safari vehicles, including well-equipped Toyota Land Cruisers or similar all-terrain options, selected for both comfort and visibility.
Journey times across Botswana and Zimbabwe can vary, shaped by road conditions, weather, and border formalities. Distances here are experienced differently, and there is value in embracing the slower pace—taking in the scenery as it unfolds. Where possible, stops are made to ensure comfort along the way. While every effort is made to follow the planned itinerary, adjustments may occasionally be made in the interests of timing, conditions, or overall experience.

As Botswana’s second-largest reserve, Chobe encompasses over 10,000 square kilometers of pristine wilderness and supports one of the densest elephant populations on earth. The remainder of the afternoon is yours to spend at leisure, perhaps resting by the pool or enjoying an optional excursion as the heat of the day fades.
The following morning begins early with a game drive through the park, capturing the bush as it wakes, before returning to the lodge for a late breakfast and a few hours of quiet relaxation. As the midday heat softens, the afternoon shifts to exploring the park’s unique topography and resident wildlife by open vehicle, tracing the stories etched into the hillsides. The day concludes with a gentle ascent to Rhodes’ grave, allowing you to stand atop the "Hill of the Benevolent Spirit" and look out over the endless, undulating valleys below as the day draws to a quiet close.
