Today, bid farewell to Grootbos and set off on a breathtakingly scenic drive (approximately 2½ hours) toward the renowned Delaire Graff Estate—often celebrated as the “Jewel of the Cape Winelands.”  Perched high in the mountains above Stellenbosch along the spectacular Helshoogte Pass, this exceptional destination offers a seamless blend of luxury and natural beauty. A 5-star boutique hotel, award-winning winery, and world-class art estate, Delaire Graff invites you to indulge in sweeping views of vineyards and dramatic mountain landscapes while enjoying some of South Africa’s finest hospitality.

Your destination lies in Stellenbosch, South Africa’s most famous wine region. Here, over 150 wineries are scattered across rolling hills, framed by striking mountain backdrops. One of the country’s oldest towns, Stellenbosch enchants visitors with its rich history and charm—think whitewashed Cape Dutch buildings, thatched roofs, and streets shaded by ancient oak trees.  Renowned as a premier food and wine destination, Stellenbosch also boasts an array of outstanding restaurants, making it the perfect place to savour the very best of the Cape Winelands.  Sit back, relax, and enjoy the journey—this is South Africa at its most elegant.

Day 7 - 9
3 Nights

Arrive in Cape Town today (about an hour’s journey), where the first impression is unmistakably its setting. The city unfolds between mountain and sea, with Table Mountain anchoring the skyline and lending a quiet sense of scale. It’s a place where natural beauty and urban life meet with ease—bright skies when the weather allows, a gentle blend of cultures and languages, and an atmosphere that is both relaxed and quietly vibrant. Known as the “Mother City,” Cape Town tends to welcome visitors in a way that feels immediately familiar.

At the V&A Waterfront, the city’s harbour life comes into focus. Set among working docks, yachts, and open ocean views—with Table Mountain never far from sight—the area moves at an unhurried but lively pace. Cafés and restaurants line the water’s edge, while occasional street performances and live music add to the mood. Seals can often be spotted resting along the docks, an understated highlight for many. Around you, shops, small markets, museums, and viewpoints invite gentle exploration at your own pace.

Excluded:

The above sightseeing options are available to book as a tour, please do let us know if you would like additional information and a price guide.

  • There is a very good Hop on Hop off City Sightseeing Bus, which takes you to the various sites around Cape Town and Peninsula (www.citysightseeing.co.za).
  • Try to take a trip up Table Mountain on your first clear day as quite often the cloud cover (table cloth) sets in spoiling the views. Book online (www.tablemountain.net) on the day to avoid the ticket office queues.
  • You may like to take a trip out to Cape Point along the Peninsula. Take in the quaint fishing village of Hout Bay, the magnificent coastal Chapman's Peak Drive and beaches of Noordhoek and Kommetjie to Cape Point. Return on the Indian Atlantic Coast via Simonstown, Fish Hoek and Boulders Beach with its penguin colony. (Full Day)
  • Alternatively  you may wish to relax at your hotel or explore the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront complex with its many shops, museums and restaurants.
  • The ferry to Robben Island departs from the Waterfront daily, however as this is weather dependent we would recommend booking online (www.robben-island.org.za) so that should the crossing be cancelled it can be re-scheduled.

This morning, you’ll bid farewell to the vibrant city of Cape Town and return to the airport for your onward flight to Kruger. As you leave the coast behind, the landscape transforms, setting the stage for an unforgettable safari experience.  On arrival at Kruger Airport, you’ll take a short scenic lodge-hop flight to the world-renowned Singita Ebony Lodge, set within the exclusive Sabi Sand Game Reserve—a private reserve bordering the iconic Kruger National Park.

Here, the true magic of the African wilderness unfolds. Kruger National Park is one of Africa’s largest and most celebrated wildlife sanctuaries, home to an astonishing diversity of animals, including the legendary Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo. The adjacent Sabi Sand Reserve is particularly famous for its exceptional game viewing, especially its close-up leopard sightings and intimate safari experiences, made possible by limited vehicle numbers and off-road driving privileges.

Your home in the bush, Singita Ebony Lodge, is widely regarded as one of South Africa’s finest safari lodges. Overlooking the Sand River, the lodge combines timeless elegance with contemporary comfort—think luxurious suites, private plunge pools, and serene decks where you can watch wildlife wander by. Personalized service, world-class cuisine, and expertly guided game drives ensure every moment is unforgettable.
