Nestled carefully into the natural gaps of an enchanted Milkwood forest, the 11 freestanding suites are stylishly furnished with luxurious canopy beds, spacious en suite bathrooms, separate lounges with cosy fireplaces and private wooden decks with spectacular panoramic views.

True to its name, the warm and welcoming Garden Lodge is set amongst an Eden of beautifully landscaped fynbos gardens and indigenous trees. Fashioned from stone, thatch and timber, the Garden Lodge reflects African warmth with an intercontinental twist, blending perfectly into the surrounding landscape.
The curved lines, high beamed ceilings and endless windows enhance the sensation of light, freedom and natural flow and make full use of the incredible sweeping views across mountain and sea. One-Bedroom Luxury Suite
Suite features a spacious bedroom with en-suite bathroom, separate lounge with tea & coffee making facilities, minibar, cosy fireplace, DVD player for in-room entertainment. The spacious suites open out onto a private outside deck overlooking the Walker Bay. As with all One-Bedroom Luxury Suites at Garden Lodge, facilities such as a separate bath, shower and toilet, satellite TV and secure room safes are standard.
Two-Bedroom Luxury Family Suite
Our Two-Bedroom Suites epitomise luxurious home-from-home comforts and are ideal for families or friends travelling together. These spacious suites feature two private en-suite bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms (one with shower and one with bath), separate lounge and dining area with tea & coffee making facilities, minibar, cosy fireplace as well as a DVD player. The spacious suites open out onto a private outside deck overlooking the Walker Bay. As with all Two-Bedroom Luxury Suites, facilities such as satellite TV and secure room safes are standard.

Garden Lodge was designed to let the magic of nature flood in through all of its doors and windows. Enjoy its warm cosy interior and spectacular ocean and fynbos views, as you savour memorable meals with loved ones. Every plate of food served up at our tables is a perfect, colourful piece of art. We use only the very freshest ingredients, sourced as close to Grootbos as possible, with many coming from our own organic farm on the reserve. This means that as you’re swooning over that home made linguini or Thai spiced soup, you’re also contributing to our food production and social upliftment projects. And the best part? All meals are included in your rate.

LODGE - STANFORD
"Only two hours from Cape Town and 30 minutes from Hermanus on the way to the world-renowned Garden Route, Grootbos is perfectly situated between the classic attractions of the Cape and is most certainly a highlight on any itinerary. Both the Garden and Forest Lodges offer panoramic views and every suite offers complete privacy. Garden Lodge lies in an indigenous garden with stone walls and a warm African ambience. Each suite is nestled between the fynbos with a private sundeck to soak up the tranquillity and view. Forest Lodge is an architectural masterpiece with a chic design that perfectly accentuates the draping branches of the surrounding milkwood forest. Relaxation is easy with a light-filled lounge, spacious bathroom, airy bedroom and large outside deck with mesmerising views over the ever-changing ocean and African sky. Creative gourmet cuisine, using home-grown organic vegetables and the freshest local produce, is complemented by fine local wines. Dedicated conservationists accompany guests daily on awe-inspiring excursions to explore the flora, fauna, bird and marine life of the area by foot, boat, horseback or in an open 4x4 vehicle. From June to December marvel at the Southern Right whales that may be viewed from the rocky cliffs, pure white beaches, by boat or light airplane.
