About Zala Park
Surrounded by coco palms, Zala Park is located in Muungoni village, about 35 km southeast from Stone Town. The park was developed with the aim of educating local children on preserving endangered animal species. This environmental and educational activity has now become a place of attraction for tourists where they can experience native animals, at the same time doing something good by supporting the local school and community. For visitors wishing to discover the real Zanzibar life, Zala Park also offers the unique opportunity to do a cultural tour around the village and a trip into the jungle and the mangroves via canoe. By visiting Zala Park, visitors are actively supporting conservation of nature, culture and environmental education.
