East Africa

East Africa is best known for its superb safari regions, most notably the Serengeti and Masai Mara of Kenya and Tanzania, where every year hundreds of thousands of wildebeest and other migratory herbivores follow a circular route in search of water, followed by a menagerie of predators and creating one of the most phenomenal wildlife spectacles on earth – the Great Migration. In contrast to East Africa's interior regions, the coast is a tropical paradise, complete with white sand beaches, lush jungle vegetation, and the temperate azure waters of the Indian Ocean. A number of islands - including Zanzibar (Tanzania) and Lamu (Kenya) can be found off the East African coast and offer a heady mixture of laid back island living, historical interest and outdoor pursuits.
