Kiwayu Island, Kenya

About Kiunga Marine Reserve

Composed of roughly 50 islands and coral reefs lying a few kilometres offshore, Kiunga Marine Reserve is a diving and snorkelling mecca that makes up part of the Lamu archipelago. Its islands are an important nesting site for seabirds, and leatherback turtles, dugongs and giant clams also find shelter on the reserve’s beaches and amidst its reefs. The only available accommodation is located on Kiwayu Island.
