About Guided Walks at Selinda
A special area has been set aside in the Selinda Reserve especially for walking safaris. The area is located along the Selinda Spillway, a water course linking Botswana's Okavango Delta to the Linyanti Swamps. The walks take you along time-worn trails, through riparian forest and open plains. Typically, guests undertaking walking safaris, commence their safari at of one of the permanent camps (Selinda or Zibalianja), then break away onto the walk, which ends up three days later, at the other permanent camp for the last night. In total, this is usually a five day safari.
You are likely to see elephant, lion, cheetah, wild dog, varied plains game, and great birdlife. Walking safaris are closely in touch with nature. Your guide and tracker will introduce the smaller creatures, and stalk you up on the big game. Night game drives seek out the nocturnal animals.
