About CARACAL

CARACAL is a wildlife research and conservation centre located in Kasane, Botswana. CARACAL stands for Centre for African Resources: Animals, Communities and Land Use. It is home to the Chobe Research Institute, which conducts various studies on the ecology, health, and management of the Chobe River Basin and its wildlife. CARACAL also operates a wildlife rescue and rehabilitation facility where visitors can see and learn about different animals, such as banded mongooses, predators, and birds of prey. CARACAL offers educational and outreach programs for local communities and schools and volunteer and internship opportunities for international students and researchers.
