Watamu Marine Association

Watamu Marine Association is a non-profit, voluntary organisation established in 2007 to address environmental and community challenges in Watamu. It brings together local groups to support conservation, responsible tourism, and sustainable livelihoods. WMA collaborates with scientists, marine authorities, and community members to monitor marine life and promote eco-tourism activities such as dolphin and whale watching. Its initiatives include guidelines for marine excursions and support for local enterprises that contribute to environmental stewardship and community development.
