Itikoni Tented Camp

African Environments Itikoni Camp is a semi-permanent tented camp set in the lush montane forest of Arusha National Park. The only camp within the park this is a unique opportunity for clients to camp in luxury beneath the crater of Mt Meru at an altitude of almost 6,000 feet. Situated 12 kms from the park gate Itikoni boasts spectacular views of Kilimanjaro and of course Meru as well as resident wildlife of giraffe, buffalo and Colobus Monkeys.

Itikoni Camp allows for great acclimatization pre-expedition for those climbing ether Kilimanjaro or Meru. We can host clients coming in straight from Kilimanjaro Airport with permissions granted to arrive into the camp after hours giving a quick turn around on the acclimatization process.

This camp has experienced a huge make over with the addition of the same luxury size tents we use for Mysigio and Pembezoni camp. Mess and lounge tents are both heated with eco-briquette stoves ensuring comfortable and cozy evenings.

We highly recommend day walking within Arusha National Park as the terrain is varied and pristine. Itikoni Camp is a great start or finish to any safari itinerary!
