Marakapula is ideal for guests with a plan to visit the Kruger National Park. The Phalaborwa gate of this world-renowned park is located only 25km from Marakapula and is very easy to access. The beautiful African nature of Makubu Lodge at Marakapula is quiet and energising, removing one from the day's game viewing excitement and offering a riverside retreat.

Guests at Marakapula are set to enjoy a variety of safari activities, from game drives in the private Big 5 reserve, to day trips in the Kruger National Park, boat cruises on the Olifants River nearby, and walking safaris. This is an ideal location for an entirely uncrowded and peaceful experience with all the action of a safari.

The location of Makubu Lodge is indulgently placed along the Selati River. The views from the bedrooms are enough to make one want to stay in bed, but the call of the wild will encourage you to explore this wonderful reserve. Marakapula is a reserve on community-owned land and is maintained very well as a large sanctuary to the Big 5 and many more wildlife species.
