Vazimba Hotel

Vazimba Hotel is a great mid-range small hotel within easy access of Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park. From here you are just a short distance from the soaring tsingy formations, as well as plenty of endemic flora and fauna that make this area so fascinating. En-route to or from the hotel, you can stop at the Avenue des Baobabs, an iconic site in Madagascar. Accommodation consists of 23 bungalows, each with an en-suite bathroom and verandah.

Service at Vazimba is very attentive and friendly. As the sun sets enjoy a refreshing drink at the bar before enjoying dinner prepared with fresh ingredients. There is also an outdoor swimming pool for guests to enjoy, and games such as pétanque, table tennis and billiards can all be enjoyed. Due to the rainy season Vazimba hotel is open only between April and November.

The main draws are the tsingy forest and the astoundingly beautiful Avenue des Baobabs, where a line of venerable baobabs on either side of the road soar 30 metres into the sky - a spectacular sight especially at sunset. With their huge water-storing trunks, crooked branches and melon-sized furry fruits, the baobabs are remarkably distinctive and continue to be a symbol of pride for the local people, holding great spiritual significance and inspiring many fairy-tale stories.
