About Island Safari Lodge

Island Safari Lodge is set on a 300 acre private island reserve, and is just 10 km away from Maun Airport. It is situated on the banks of the Thamalakane River under a canopy of beautifully lush and green Okavango trees. The lodge overlooks a floodplain of fields and water that are frequented by an abundance of birdlife and the occasional Hippo. The lodge offers a tranquil bush setting that is complimented by the river view, a pool and the iconic tranquil call of the African Fish Eagle. The accommodation is comfortable and set in the lodge gardens. The lodge comprises of 12 Chalets, 6 Heritage Rooms and 6 Heritage Family Rooms all with en suite showers, DSTV and air conditioning.The lodge has a main bar and restaurant area with seating indoors or out in the gardens. You are able to choose from a la carte menu for lunches and dinners accompanied by our wine list. It is an ideal place to relax alongside flowing waters, or beside one of the swimming pools, using the free WI-FI services and ordering refreshments from the restaurant. For those active bush loving visitors who are interested in adventure, there are many recreational excursions and opportunities available.

Accommodation Options

Heritage Chalet
The accommodation is comfortable and set in the lodge gardens. The lodge has 12 Heritage Chalets all with en suite showers, DSTV and air conditioning. Island Safari Lodge offers comfortable accommodation nestled in a lush garden. Well spaced out, each room has a lovely view across the tree-lined garden towards the river. The twelve thatched chalets stand alone, shaded by the foliage of the overhanging trees. Guest amenities are provided.
Camp Site
The spacious campsite is nestled under a riverine canopy, providing plenty of shade for campers. A large, fenced swimming pool is available letting you cool off during the heat of the day. The campground is subdivided into 10 demarcated campsites, each with access to power and a light. The two main ablution blocks are complimented by a shower block to provide facilities for 100 campers. Campers can stroll to the lodge along a promenade running along the riverbank to the restaurant and bar where wi-fi is available.
Heritage Family Room
Island Safari Lodge offers comfortable accommodation nestled in a lush garden. Well spaced out, each room has a lovely view across the tree-lined garden towards the river. The six adjoining Heritage Family rooms rooms each have a small veranda where you can sit back and relax. All rooms have twin beds, en suite showers, air-conditioning and DSTV

Dining & Cuisine

Island Safari Lodge Restaurant
The lodge has its own restaurant and well stocked bar, offering guests a convenient, friendly and efficient dining experience. It is an ideal place to relax alongside the flowing waters of the river, or beside one of the swimming pools, using the free wi-fi and sipping a refreshing beverage from the bar. Meals can be taken indoors, on tables overlooking the river or out in the leafy gardens. At the fire pit, sit around the roaring camp fire, meet new friends and share stories of the day's adventures. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and you can select from the à la carte or buffet menu.
