Beitbridge

Beitbridge, a bustling border town between South Africa and Zimbabwe, holds the distinction of being the busiest road border post in Southern Africa. While not typically considered a tourist destination, Beitbridge plays a crucial role in facilitating trade and commerce between the two countries. It also serves as a significant transportation hub, linking Zimbabwe's major cities to South Africa's extensive transportation networks. The South African portion of the town is home to Maremani Nature Reserve which beckons with its tropical savannah landscapes and diverse wildlife, including elephants, rhinos, giraffes, and various antelope species. Maremani is currently undergoing restoration efforts to enhance its biodiversity, providing opportunities for wildlife observation, including sightings of lions, leopards, a vibrant birdlife, and diverse reptile population.
