Welcome to Murchison Falls National Park Northern Section

The northern section of Murchison Falls National Park is the park’s most accessible and wildlife-rich area. Located north of the Victoria Nile, it includes key zones such as Paraa, Pakuba, Delta, Wankwar, and Chobe. This region features open savannah and riverine woodland, making it ideal for game drives. It supports high concentrations of wildlife, including elephant, giraffe, buffalo, lion, and leopard. The Delta area, where the Nile flows into Lake Albert, is a prime birding site and one of the best places to see the rare shoebill stork. The northern section contains the majority of the park’s tourism infrastructure, offering a range of accommodations and visitor services. It also serves as the main departure point for boat trips to the base of Murchison Falls and wildlife cruises along the Victoria Nile toward the Delta
