Welcome to Lyantonde
Situated south of the Central Region of Uganda, Lyantonde is a peaceful farming town set along the Masaka-Mbarara Road that connects to Kampala. This town serves as the municipal, administrative, and commercial centre of Lyantonde District and is surrounded by popular travel destinations - namely the Sembabule, Lwengo, Rakai, and Kiruhura districts. Lyantonde’s convenient location makes it an ideal stopover to must-see sites including the rolling hills and the open grasslands of the nearby Lake Mburo National Park. Outdoor lovers can enjoy numerous activities including game drives, walking trails through the Rubanga Forest, viewing over 40 species of bird, horse riding, fishing, and a scenic boat cruise along the lake. The park provides a protected habitat for giraffe, topi, eland, duiker, bushbuck, the waterbuck, and zebra.
