Welcome to Chumbe Island
Situated just a few kilometres south of the main island of Zanzibar, Chumbe Island is a small privately owned island. This underwater wonderland has been declared a Chumbe Island Coral Park, an award-winning private nature reserve featuring stunning coral reefs surrounding the entire island. Known for its ecotourism, visitors can look forward to a number of activities such as: nature walks through the lush forest reserve; staying at a rustic, castaway-style lodge; and spotting a variety of rare wildlife including hawksbill turtles as well as 370 species of fish and over 50 species of bird. Other activities include: boating, swimming, scuba diving and snorkelling in the crystal-clear waters to discover over 200 species of coral.
