Welcome to Makuyuni Wildlife Park
Positioned at the crossroads of the Arusha–Babati and Makuyuni–Karatu highways, approximately 70 kilometres from Arusha City, Makuyuni Wildlife Park spans 49 square kilometres within the Tarangire–Manyara ecosystem. Once farmland, the area now thrives as a sanctuary for wildlife and nature enthusiasts. The landscape features rolling savannahs, dense acacia woodlands, and scattered kopjes that shelter a variety of wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, oryx, and African wild dogs. Visitors can explore through game drives, guided nature walks, and rock-climbing adventures. Thrill-seekers may enjoy ziplining, while tranquil picnic spots and stargazing opportunities enhance the park’s appeal while cultural interactions with the neighbouring Maasai community provide insights into their rich traditions.
