Dodoma

Set on the eastern edge of Tanzania's southern highlands, Dodoma is the country's capital city and political hub located in the semi-arid agricultural region of Dodoma. Due to its central location, Dodoma strategically serves as a major route linking Dar es Salaam, Arusha and Iringa by road and Tabora, Mwanza and Kigoma by rail. It is also the centre of Tanzania's growing wine industry and is the second-largest producer of wine in Sub-Saharan Africa. The spectacular scenery surrounding the city can be enjoyed while trekking up Mlimwa Hill or admiring an unmatched aerial view of Dodoma from Lion Rock, a hilly formation on the city's outskirts.
