About Seronga
The small town of Seronga is located at the bottom of the Okavango Panhandle in Botswana’s North-West District. It has its own airstrip to cater for visitors coming to explore the delta’s watery wilderness. The region is known for its rich wildlife, including the crocodiles, water monitor lizards and hippos that inhabit its waters, the elephants, antelope, zebras and baboons that roam its shores, and the profusion of birdlife the frequents its high places. It is also known for its sport fishing, with feisty species such as tiger fish to challenge anglers. Seronga has become a hub of community-based ecotourism, with locals guiding tours through the delta on traditional mokoro canoes.
