Oude Werf Restaurant

Oude Werf is one of Stellenbosch’s oldest - and newest - landmarks for food lovers. The original Restaurant was an Eikestad favourite. Today, the beautifully redesigned ‘modern-meets-vintage’ bistro, named “Liefde” (“Love”, in Afrikaans) still preserves our essential traditions: homey, Cape classics prepared with love… and a contemporary gourmet twist from chef, Albert van der Loo.

Liefde’s exciting new menus features plain, simple and down-to-earth sensational! From lunchy light meals under the vines of the shady courtyard patio, to robust country a la carte dinner specialities – served alfresco or indoors around the fireplace. Settle in for a snack or sundowners at poolside. Try more-ish cheesecake or ‘tuisgebak’ and coffees on the Voorstoep. And you dare not miss a taste of some of the Cape most quaffable vintages from the estates of this world-famous wine region.

A wonderful afternoon tea is served everyday at our Liefde Bistro! This menu is available between 14h30 and 17h00.

Snack attack? Create your own platter of delicious snacks with this fun cocktail menu. Eat on your own or share the moment! This cocktail menu is available all day and in the evening but subject to making a booking.

Summer Braai:
Having a small function or a family gathering? Then enjoy entertaining the truly South African way with a traditional summer braai. PLEASE NOTE: booking essential.
