About De Volkskombuis
In 1902, Sir Herbert Baker built labourers' cottages on the former Vredenburg farm. By 1968, Historical Homes had restored the property and converted it into a restaurant. After a long period of disrepair, the Rupert family undertook a major restoration in 2016. Today, De Volkskombuis is once again a thriving restaurant in the charming town of Stellenbosch.
