About Marigold Restaurant
Marigold evokes the exotic with its small plates menu inspired by aromatic and spicy North Indian cuisine. Seasoned Chef Vanie Padayachee, who hails from Durban, has been on the opening teams of various restaurants and a cookery school in South Africa, and was most recently part of the Le Quartier Français culinary team.
Vanie, whose style of cuisine is influenced by the rich diversity of cultures found in South Africa, is an expert at tempering and blending spices. She recently visited India to experience the culture and cuisine firsthand, bringing to Marigold’s offering authenticity and a tangible reference to its origins. Marigold specialises in a variety of Indian dishes, from fragrant curries and flavourful biryanis to succulent meat cooked in the charcoal tandoor.
