Mandrare

Set in Southern Madagascar the Mandrare River runs through the region of Anosy. Flanked by rugged mountains, sacred spiny forests, and a wonderful diversity of wildlife, this river is set in an arid otherworldly landscape which will delight curious nature lovers. The river snakes past the town of Ifotaka and through the small private Berenty Reserve. Visitors can look forward to a wide range of activities including learning about the fascinating nomadic culture and ancient traditions of the local Antandroy people, or enjoying a guided 4x4 safari to spot an array of wildlife including numerous lemur species, as well as reptiles, amphibians and rich birdlife.
