Soanierana Ivongo

Situated in Madagascar’s Analanjirofo Region, the riverside port town of Soanierana-Ivongo is sandwiched between the mouth of the Marimbona River and the Indian Ocean. The town serves as a jumping off point for visitors travelling to the island of Sainte-Marie which lies just offshore. Soanierana-Ivongo is known for its farming of delicious lychees, as well as cloves, coffee, rice, vanilla and other important agricultural products. Visitors can look forward to spotting humpback whales, taking traditional dugout boat rides, first-class diving and magnificent snorkelling through underwater coral wonderlands just off the beautiful bays’ sandy beaches.
