Ambalakely

The town of Ambalakely is located in central-southeast Madagascar in the Fianarantsoa II District and is primarily an agricultural hub, surrounded by lush rice fields and tea plantations. It offers access to several nearby attractions, most notably Ranomafana National Park and the Anja Lemur Reserve. Ranomafana is a subdivision of the Rainforests of Atsiranana, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is home to 12 different lemur species, including two critically endangered varieties - the greater bamboo lemur and the golden lemur. Anja Lemur Reserve has the density of ring-tailed lemurs in the country and is also a haven for several exotic reptile species, such as the girdled lizard.
