Kakamega

Located in southwestern Kenya, Kakamega is set 30 kilometres north of the equator in Kakamega County. It serves as a great base from which to explore the nearby Kakamega Forest National Reserve, which is home to ancient woodlands encompassing some of Kenya’s last remaining tropical rainforest, comprised of virgin stinkwood and teak trees, ferns and flowering plants. Visitors can look forward to a guided tour through the forest along scenic trails to spot an array of wildlife and learn about the biodiversity of these magnificent woods.
