Situated in the southern reaches of the Great Rift Valley in Kenya, the Shompole Conservancy is set between the colourful lakes of Magadi and Natron. This little conservancy is an exclusive sanctuary providing comfortable luxury accommodation and incredible close-to-nature experiences. Visitors can enjoy an overnight village stay with the welcoming Maasai community of the area, spot an array of wonderful birdlife including both Lesser and Greater flamingoes, experience an authentic African safari experience, enjoy day and night game drives, walk with a group of habituated Olive baboons and try your hand at herding cattle with the Maasai. Commonly spotted species include: genets, bat-eared foxes, aardwolf, civet cats, hyena, elephant, lion and leopard and over 450 bird species. Other popular activities include tubing, kayaking, canoeing, and fishing.
