Athi River

The town of Athi River is set on the banks of its namesake, just outside Nairobi. It has expanded rapidly as it is situated close to the Kenyan capital and is an economic hub featuring thriving business and retail outlets. Located just outside the city lies the sprawling Athi Plain with its rich wildlife such as giraffes and elands, while the Athi River offers great fishing. The natural forests of Mount Kenya National Park are roughly two hours’ drive to the south with Kilimanjaro National Park is just 170 kilometres away over the Tanzanian border.
