Selebi Phikwe

Botswana

Welcome to Selebi Phikwe

Located in the Central District of Botswana, the mining town of Selebi-Phikwe is more commonly referred to as Phikwe. Selebi-Phikwe is a great base for discovering the surrounding landscapes, including Letsibogo Dam and the Lepokole Hills. The dam supplies water to Gaborone via the 500-kilometre-long north-south water carrier pipeline and provides a great location for bird-watching, attracting a variety of waterbirds and bushveld species. The Lepokole Hills are located just north of Bobonong and are the southernmost extension of the Matopos Hills in Zimbabwe. There are several bushmen rock painting sites among the picturesque granite outcrops and archaeological remains that are worth a visit.
