About Mount Elgon National Park - Uganda

Straddling the Kenya-Uganda border, Mount Elgon National Park encompasses a mix of botanically diverse terrain that varies according to altitude, with montane forests blending into high-lying heaths. The mountain slopes are studded with deep ravines and calderas, waterfalls and hot springs, sheer cliffs and several intriguing caves. Buffalo, antelope and elephant roam the foothills of the reserve; small monkeys swing through the forest canopies; and more than 300 bird species light up the park with their colours and calls.
