About Ssezibwa Falls

A sacred waterfall located 35km east of Kampala in Mukono District, Ssezibwa Falls is revered as a site of cultural and traditional significance as the Ssezibwa River is believed to have been birthed by a human centuries ago. As the region’s spiritual and cultural centre, this seven-metre high waterfall is often used by traditional leaders of the Baganda people to perform rituals. Activities in the waterfall and its surroundings include camping, guided nature walks, primate walks, canoeing and birdwatching.
