Mabira Rain Forest

Mabira Rain Forest, located in central Uganda between Kampala and Jinja, is one of the country’s largest remaining tropical forests. Visitors can enjoy guided nature walks, birdwatching, cycling trails, and canopy exploration while immersing themselves in the rich biodiversity. Notably, the forest is home to over 300 species of birds, rare primates such as the Uganda mangabey, and a wide variety of medicinal plants. Managed by the National Forestry Authority, Mabira Rain Forest also plays a vital role in conservation and eco‑tourism.
