About Kiyunga

Elevated at 1176 metres above sea level in Uganda's Central Region, Kiyunga is a small village in the quiet countryside, an hour away from the country's capital. The serene setting with cosy accommodation options is a peaceful rest stop en route to the region's natural highlights. Less than an hour from town is Ssezibwa Falls - a rushing 17-metre waterfall believed to have been born by humans many centuries ago - where locals visit the site for blessings and good fortune. Also within driving distance is Mabira Forest, Uganda's largest tropical rainforest teeming with over 300 species of birdlife, a dense tropical rainforest that invites nature enthusiasts to explore its moisture-laden landscape with its walking and cycling trails. Picnic facilities are also available.
