About Kihihi
Kihihi, also referred to as Kihiihi, is the second-largest metropolitan town within the Kanungu District of Southwestern Uganda. Boasting an unspoilt mountainous terrain, the surrounding landscapes are a popular tourist drawcard. This bustling hub serves as a gateway for nature-inspired exploration, with exceptionally scenic surroundings including the Southern Queen Elizabeth National Park, the turquoise waters of Lake Edward and the mountainous terrain and lush vegetation of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, which provides a sanctuary for mountain gorilla. Home to a large refugee camp administered by the United National Commission for Refugees, one of the unique attractions of this urban area includes the head office and camp itself. Travellers interested in shopping can look forward to browsing through the many boutiques, as well as visiting the local farmers market; while those wanting a more cultural experience, can visit the many religious worshipping sites.
