Lobo

Regarded as one of the northern Serengeti’s big-cat capitals, the remote and wildly scenic Lobo valley pairs excellent predator viewing with golden grassland, rolling green hills, open acacia woodlands and ancient granite kopjes. These weathered rock formations punctuate the grasslands, providing lions with shaded resting places and vantage points over the surrounding plains. Permanent springs sustain wildlife through the dry season, when elephants, buffaloes and giraffes roam the valley. Leopards inhabit its wooded areas, while cheetahs hunt across more open ground. Game drives traverse this varied landscape in search of resident lion prides, alongside antelope grazing between patches of woodland. From around July to November, migrating wildebeest and zebras may pass through the region, with southbound herds particularly likely from September onwards.
