Zanzibar Slave Tour (Gallery Tours)

The tour starts at Dhow Harbour in Malindi where ships brought slaves from Bagamoyo to Zanzibar. The slaves were taken to Tippu Tip, the notorious Arab slave trader, and then on to the Anglican Church. Next, visitors will be taken to ancient ruins, a school for freed slave girls, before heading to Livingstone’s House and Mangapwani slave caves. Visitors can walk through these slave caves where hundreds of slaves were kept, awaiting the arrival of dhows to be exiled away from home.
