The Mangapwani Slave Chambers is located nearby Zanzibar Town. The square-shaped cell was cut out of coralline rock with a roof on top. The chamber was originally built for housing slaves and its construction is attributed to Mohammed bin Nassor Al-Alwi, an important slave trader.
