The artist diTekenar has been captivating people with her beautiful, whimsical paintings since she began exhibiting in 2000. She comes from a graphic design and animation background which is apparant in the real, yet unreal people and animals in her work.

Her paintings are filled with positive words and spiritual undertones, giving the flights of fancy a deeper meaning and complexity. Oil colour is her favourite medium although she also enjoys using water colours and acrylics. Observing people and off-beat beauty inspire her and this starts a process that usually ends in a series of paintings, much like a story unfolding. Her art comes from within and she absolutely has to paint, its an integral part of who she is.
