About Border Cave Archaeological Site
Nestled deep within the Lebombo Mountains, Border Cave is an important archaeological site where a variety of Stone Age relics have been discovered, including fragments of hominoid bones and remains of long-extinct mammals. The cave can be reached by means of a hiking trail and visitors can camp overnight at two chalets located at the site. There is also an information centre that documents the existence of prehistoric human life at Border Cave, based on the ancient remains unearthed there.
