The Oudtshoorn Library, also known as the C.J. Langenhoven Memorial Library, was established in 1928. This makes the library nearly 100 years old. It is named after C.J. Langenhoven, a prominent South African writer and politician, whose contributions to Afrikaans literature are well-celebrated.
