About Nababiep Nature Reserve
Rocky hills and arid landscapes define Nababiep Nature Reserve in South Africa's Northern Cape. Covering 10,980.82 hectares, the reserve features tracks along the Orange River and acts as an environmental buffer to the nearby Richtersveld Cultural and Botanical Landscape, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Set within a historic mining town documented at the Mining Museum, the reserve also showcases ancient petroglyphs etched into boulders by the San people over 1,000 years ago.
