About J.G. Strijdom Tunnel
The J.G. Strijdom Tunnel is a single-lane road tunnel located on the Abel Erasmus Pass in the Limpopo Province of South Africa. It is 132.3 metres long and was opened in 1959. The tunnel is named after Johannes Gerhardus Strijdom, the Prime Minister of South Africa from 1954 to 1958. The tunnel is a popular tourist destination, as it offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains.
