Battle of Ulundi (1879)

The final and almost ritualistic battle of the Zulu War took place near the King’s Royal Kraal in Ulundi. On the 4th of July 1979, the British Army smashed the Zulu Army in 90 a minute battle. Today the small memorial area is surrounded by a poor township and it is difficult to get a sense of the battle.
