Danger Point Lighthouse

Gansbaai, South Africa

About Danger Point Lighthouse

The isolated but beautiful countryside of the Danger Point Peninsula lies halfway between Cape Point in Cape Town and the southernmost tip of Africa at Cape Agulhas. Danger Point Peninsula might be relatively new in the South African tourism market, but some of the oldest remains of early man have been found here. Striking along the Danger Point Peninsula is the lighthouse built some 40 years after the HMS Birkenhead ran aground here in 1852.
