Chamonix Wine Farm

Located on the eastern mountain slopes of Franschhoek Valley near Cape Town, Chamonix Wine Farm has a rich history dating back to 1688 when it was part of the first farm, LA Cotte, granted to the Huguenots. With 290 hectares, the farm boasts fruit trees and vines of export quality, including some of the highest-planted vineyards in the Cape. The main homestead, built in 1947 by Judge Malan, became Chamonix when the Pickering family renamed it in 1965 after a memorable holiday in the French village of Chamonix. The farm produces premium wines reflecting the estate's essence, exports fruit and German-style schnapps, and offers a variety of flavoured spring waters and bar mixers. Visitors can sample wines and spirits in a converted blacksmith's workshop with a cosy and historical ambience. Additionally, Arkeste Restaurant serves a wide variety of fine cuisine.
