About Andafiavaratra Palace
The Andafiavaratra Palace in Antananarivo served as the residence of Prime Minister Rainilaiarivony during the late 19th century. Positioned on one of the city's prominent hilltops, the building now functions as a museum. It houses a collection of artefacts linked to Madagascar’s royal history, including items salvaged from the 1995 fire at the Rova of Antananarivo. The structure reflects the political and cultural significance of the Merina monarchy during a pivotal period in the island’s past.
