McMillan Memorial Library

The McMillan Memorial Library is located in the heart of Nairobi and is Kenya's second oldest library. The library was built by Lady Lucy McMillan as a memorial to her husband, Sir Northrup McMillan, and is the only building in Kenya protected by an Act of Parliament. The library maintains more than

400 000 books including publications and East African newspapers dating back to 1901. It has been home to the proceedings of Parliament since its inception.
