Kiambu is the capital of Kiambu County capital and its largest town is Thika. It is a semi-rural area adjacent to the northern border of Nairobi County and has a population of 1,623,282 It is rated among the wealthiest counties, but a visit to Kiambu paints a different picture for the very rich are dramatically outnumbered by the very poor. Most of its inhabitants live below the poverty line, go without food and depend on manual jobs to eke a living. For many family’s breakfast and lunch are luxuries and dinner is not consumed each day. It is haphazard at best
