Malindi Marine National Park & Reserve

Malindi Marine National Park & Reserve, established in 1968 and later recognised as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, lies south of Malindi from the Vasco da Gama Pillar toward Watamu. It features fringing reefs, coral gardens, seagrass beds, mangroves, and mudflats. The area supports diverse marine life, including humpback dolphins, sea turtles, shore birds, reef fish, and various invertebrates such as sponges and crustaceans. Nearby attractions include the mangrove forest and the historic Vasco da Gama Pillar.
